HAITOGLOU BROS S.A.

In 1924, Konstantinos, Eleftherios and Savvas Haitoglou, three brothers from Ikonio, Asia Minor, started to produce halva in Thessaliniki, establishing AFOI HAITOGLOU S.A. In 1930, the small – but developing – family business acquired its first privately owned plant. Thirty years later, in 1962, the Company, having developed its capacity and expanded it production activities in new products, decided to translocate to a new privately owned plant, this time in the Industrial Zone of Kalohori, Thessaloniki.

 

The company, trying to meet the huge demand which developed meanwhile in the domestic as well as the international market, invested large sums in modern mechanical equipment (the most complete and productive throughout Europe). The modern production methods, the excellent ingredients, and the dedication to tradition, were effectively combined with the expansion of the sales network, by making the MAKEDONIKOS HALVAS, TAHINI, and others, leading brands in Greece, as well as worldwide.

 

Taking all this into consideration, in combination with the constant investments, the Company now holds a leading role in the Hellenic Food Industry.
